Matergenics thermal testing capabilities include measurement and analysis of thermal conductivity (U-value and R-value) as per ASTM C177-10 for different solid and porous materials such as:

We can develop customized testing procedures for particular application or manufacturing requirements. Both in-plane and through-plane thermal conductivity can be measured over required range of temperature, compressive load, and relative humidity.

 

Matergenics is specialized in thermal contact resistance measurements and analysis between various solid-solid, solid-porous interfaces. Our thermal conductivity and contact resistance measurements testing facility has the following capabilities:

  • Compression load up to 25 bars
  • Controlled environments including: vacuum or flow of humidified or dry gas to simulate the real working conditions, especially for porous media
  • Effects of corrosion, coating, paint, and spray on conductivity/contact resistance
